When I look back on life, it’s been in the times I’ve needed him the most that I’ve felt his profound sense of peace. In the helicopter on the ‘survival life flight’ to the University of Michigan hospital at just sixteen, for example. I’ve felt his peaceful presence when other tragedies in life have occurred, also. In loss, pain, heartbreak, or grief beyond belief—you will feel the Lord’s presence granting you peace. When you feel like every day is challenging, when you’re not sure how you will overcome, and when you cannot predict the future or what direction your life will take, God will give you reassurance. I love you, he whispers. Trust. Believe in me. I will lead and guide you. I want what’s best, he says. Keep the faith, and never give up! This is the peace that surpasses all understanding.
