Happy Birthday to me!🎂🎉💫

Today I’m grateful. Grateful for what I have and my abilities. I am even thankful for what I have learned through loss. Our inabilities teach us to be humble and patient. What we lack can give us an appreciation for what we don’t. I woke up this morning and thanked God for all that I have and can do. I’m grateful and will continue to carry my cross(es) willingly and surrender to the Lord. When I am weak; he is strong. When I am tired; he is awake. When I am hurt; I will remember he is good (all the days of my life). 🎂🎉💫

A Soul Check

We are looking at abundance: a place to rest our heads, loved ones that are still alive, cars, jobs, families, and good friends—things us Americans usually expect. Meditate on these things, and you will be grateful. I know I am. In the material sense, all of the above may not seem like enough! “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” is a true comment. We don’t value the preciousness of moments until we can no longer have them. I’m thankful for the simple things: breath in my lungs, the ability to think, the ability to write, and of course, the fact that you are reading this (smile).

When we part from this earth, our possessions will not go with us. All we will have is our soul. How is your soul tonight? Are you angry? So am I. God never promised us an easy life. But if we seek after Him we can get through anything! The brokenness is where we experience His outpouring love. We may have to become desperate. We may have to have nowhere else to go. It can take a cry out to God in the middle of the night! Immediately, He comes to our aid. I was getting a little worried the other day and I heard God’s whispers, “Zina, have I ever let you down? What makes you think I will now?!”
