Hooray! At my weight goal (it feels dreamy)!šŸŽŠšŸŽˆšŸ’

Hallelujah! I’ve been this low but it’s been a couple years. This scale looks different from this time last year. I’ve lost 30 pounds or more!!šŸŽ‰šŸ„³šŸŽˆI’m not short and carry muscle. It feels good to have slimmed down. I’m still going for ten more!

Do I look happy?šŸ˜šŸ„‘

Now I can scratch that off my bucket list. I am going for ten more or maybe even 15! But I wont stop on this journey of eating great food for health.

I just created a Facebook health page, please visit it and like it as well: https://www.facebook.com/Zinas-Healthy-Tips-to-Maximize-Health-112061191416124/

I have created this page in honor of my beloved father, Yacoub Hermez. Rest in heaven, Babba! (Jul 01, 1932-Nov. 23, 2019)ā˜¦ļøāš›ļø

It’s Almost a New Year!šŸŽˆ

This year has been incredible. I have accomplished two big goals, and I’m wrapping 2021 up nicely! I couldn’t be happier. I’m glad I didn’t wait to make ā€˜New Year’s Resolutions.’ Those typically don’t work out well for me. If you’re a little behind on things you want to accomplish, though, I recommend you do make a New Year Resolution. Better yet, I urge you to start now! This year I have lost a little weight and have kept it off. I also just completed my book, Not Without God: Hope In the Storm. It is available for pre-order right now!šŸŽ‰ https://www.amazon.com/Not-Without-God-Hope-Storm-ebook/dp/B09P9T2DLT

What is it you’d like to accomplish in 2022? What are your goals? How will you go about achieving them? Another thing to think about: how can we better serve God in the New Year? At times I have failed at doing this, but since I owe all my success this year (and every year) to him–I’d like to do better!šŸŽŠ

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are servingā€ (Colossians 3:23-3:24).

We have to do our best!

Some people would like a clear map of where their life is going. But life can be unpredictable. That’s why we have to trust in God. We can work to make our dreams happen. God wants that. We can be ā€˜co workers’ with God to make our goals come alive so long as we do our part. What I mean is nothing will just happen if we don’t provide action. We have to plan and work hard. We have to ā€˜do our best’ and let God handle the rest. Doing our best can mean a lot. It can require hard work and sacrifice. This quote doesn’t say to only do half, nor does it say to only do your part. It says to ā€˜do your best.’ Are you doing your best in all areas? Are you falling short in some parts? Let’s reflect on this. How can we do our best for ourselves and those around us?

God’s not done

God isn’t finished with you. Don’t feel dismayed. Whatever it is you’re hoping for or trying to resolve is still an open case. Sometimes some obstacles need to be removed, and sometimes it’s a matter of timing. But God is working for you. We are continually evolving, and although the road seems steep or like you’ve lost your way, remember it’s about resilience. It’s about how many times you get back up, not how many times you fall. That thing you’re dreaming about can happen. But of course, you can’t be stagnant. There are steps you must take. Pay attention to the small steps. They are motivators to keep you going. Rome wasn’t built… God is not finished with you yet. He has not forgotten about you either. Try to stay out of your emotions. We are a culture taught to ā€˜feel,’ and if our feelings get hurt, it can mess up everything. Stay focused. Word hard. Make your goals happen. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all else should fall into place…

Ever think about giving up? Don’t.

IfĀ you don’t try you will never know what God has in store.Ā Stay the course.Ā  We have the capability of improving our lives. Small steps are motivators!

I achieved my goal of walking a mile yesterday! I’m sore, but it’s worth it. I have to keep on going. As I think back, I’m disappointed—this time last year—I was up to one hour straight on the elliptical (doing more than 3 miles). I am not far from that, so I am going to shoot for 10,000 feet.

In the last several months, I have become a full time caregiver, not only distributing medicine, but making frequent visits, and sometimes staying in hospitals with loved ones for several hours. I’m an emergency contact. I’m an advocate and a ā€œscheduler.”

I’m working on endurance when it comes to walking, though, and it’s really coming along. I keep track of my steps on a counter, and I’m increasing them. I’m so grateful for my life experiences, and for the friends I have made!

ed6547f2-71e6-4625-b8c8-0e6d8776c65f-e1562953387204.pngI’m excited about an upcoming trip to New York in the fall. I will be going to an event at Carnegie Hall! I will get to watch and learn from world-changers, speakers, experts, and authority figures who have made a difference. I will get to meet celebrities, also!

Being in NY will give me the greatest feeling, and I am really looking forward to it! My hard work has brought me here, the late nights, the lack of sleep, and the pain in my body from just sitting up and writing for so long has paid off.

I hope that my writing will one day have a big impact, and in some ways I believe it already has.Ā I never gave up on my hope of walking after my accident; I was determined to have the career I always wanted, and it is very exciting to see that come to fruition.

We have an amazing God who always keeps his promises so long as we call on him! We all have burdens, to each his own, and they are not here to hinder us—but to make us better—to teach us patience, to be kind, and to love one another. God wants to perfect a great work in us!
